Inert Atmosphere Vaporization System · Lucid Mechanics
A sealed argon environment. Closed-loop temperature control. Hand-assembled to instrument grade. The most precise controlled-atmosphere apparatus of its kind.
The System
What NonDual Core Is
NonDual Core is a sealed inert-atmosphere vaporization system built to laboratory instrument standards. Flowing argon at a regulated 0.2 L/min purges the chamber of all oxygen and reactive species before and during operation, creating an environment where thermal degradation and combustion are physically impossible.
The system is controlled by two custom-programmed circuit boards — one managing closed-loop PID temperature regulation, the other driving power delivery and the OLED display. Crucible temperature and ambient temperature are monitored simultaneously and displayed in real time. Everything is hand-assembled from the ground up.
The housing is fabricated from high-performance carbon fiber composite materials — PLA-CF for structural shell components and PPS-CF where elevated thermal resistance and chemical inertness are required. No off-the-shelf enclosures. No compromises in material selection.
The Chamber
Quartz Glass Accumulation Vessel
The accumulation chamber is a clear quartz glass cylinder sealed at the base by the housing platform and capped with a one-way carb valve at the top. Vapor generated at the crucible sweeps upward on the argon current and accumulates in the chamber with the carb closed. When the user opens the carb and draws from the rear outlet, the full accumulated dose delivers in a single controlled pull.
The argon needle is positioned precisely at the crucible lip — a deliberate engineering choice. By flowing inert gas directly over the vaporization surface, partial pressure stall is prevented: the vapor is continuously swept away from the compound surface, maintaining a consistent concentration gradient and yield per session.
The Calix
Current Generation Crucible
The current production NonDual Core ships with a high-performance Silicon Carbide crucible sourced from an established third-party manufacturer. SiC is the preferred vaporization surface for its flavor neutrality, chemical inertness, and thermal mass characteristics — it holds temperature uniformly and releases no contaminating compounds into the argon atmosphere.
This crucible is exceptional. It was selected because the standard for a Lucid Mechanics component is that it must perform with zero compromise, and this one does. It will continue to ship with every NonDual Core until the patent-pending Calix is ready for production.
The Calix
Patent Pending — Coming Soon
The next-generation Calix is the crucible Lucid Mechanics designed from scratch — and it is unlike anything that exists in this application space. A fused silica body carries a platinum thin-film serpentine element deposited directly onto the interior base surface. That single platinum element performs two functions simultaneously: it is the resistive heater and the temperature sensor, in one.
The PID controller reads the platinum element's resistance to derive temperature and drives heating current through the same conductors — no separate thermocouple, no contacts inside the argon environment, no wear points. Setpoint accuracy is ±2°C across the 150–250°C operating range. The vaporization surface is fused silica and platinum — as chemically inert as any surface achievable.
The full system — fused silica crucible, integrated Pt thin-film RTD/heater, hermetically sealed leads, alumina base isolator, and inert atmosphere delivery — is filed as a provisional patent. The Calix is patent pending and in active development. It will ship as a direct upgrade for all NonDual Core owners.
Applications
Where NonDual Core Performs
Precise thermal vaporization under inert atmosphere is required across a wide range of serious applications. NonDual Core was designed to meet the most demanding of these with the same specification rigor as scientific instrumentation.
